Dating Tips for Single Parents

Always have a means by which your children can contact you for various emergency situations.

Be prepared for a dating scene that has changed considerably since you last participated. Go with the changes and enjoy yourself.

Whatever your social situation, DO NOT rush into relationships and/or marriage. This will present a bounty of problems.

Keep in mind your children may be uncomfortable, or jealous about your dating. Allow them time to adjust and get over it, but do not allow them to stop you from dating, or allow them to control whom you date.

Be up-front with your children about your re-entry into the dating scene. This precious time discussing these issues can make the transition for both of you smooth.

Expect and prepare to deal with the resistance from your children that ultimately may arise out you your dating.

Do Not allow your ex to tell you whom you can date. You both must work through your anger before dating can begin again.

Be sure that you are comfortable with your self before dating again. Realizing dating again can be a bit frightening at first, allow time to ease into dating, until your back in full swing.
